A Couple of Pro-tips To Keep in Mind

Also, look for advanced joinery, such as mortise and tenon, rather than a butt joint, which is held together only with glue and clamps.

Clearance is essential for a chair to work in your space. Plan for:
8-12” from the top of the seat to the bottom of the dining table.
24” of space behind the chair of a seated diner if you do NOT need circulation behind them. As a general rule of thumb, aim for about 30-36” between the edge of the table and the wall or furniture behind it. If you need room for foot traffic behind the chair, increase that to 48-60”.
24” of width per chair to provide a comfortable seating arrangement.
